Chapter 03
§3Content mix & content strategy
School social media has exactly three jobs, in priority order. Every post should serve at least one — if it serves none, don't post it.
3.1
The strategic frame
Reassure existing parents
Retention — cheaper than acquisition.
Build consideration
With prospective parents in the catchment — the admissions pipeline.
Attract talent
Teachers and staff. Chronically underrated.
3.2
The content mix — 40 / 30 / 20 / 10
| Share | Pillar | What it is | Serves |
|---|---|---|---|
| 40% | Learning in action | Classroom moments, labs, projects, sports, arts, field trips, library. The daily texture of school life. | 1, 2 |
| 30% | People & pride | Student achievements, teacher spotlights, alumni, house captains, results (approved format). | 1, 2, 3 |
| 20% | Value & expertise | Parenting tips, exam-prep guidance, pedagogy explainers, curriculum insight, principal's POV. | 2 |
| 10% | Admissions & announcements | Open house, admission windows, events, holidays, notices. | 2 |
A feed that’s 50% admissions posts converts worse than one that’s 10% — because the other 90% is what earns the trust that makes the 10% work.
3.3
Weekly cadence — minimum viable
| Day | Format | Pillar |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | Reel (15–30s) | Learning in action |
| Wednesday | Carousel (4–6 cards) | People & pride, or Value |
| Friday | Reel or single image | Learning in action |
| Daily | 2–3 Stories | Behind-the-scenes, polls, re-shares |
| Monthly | 1 long-form YouTube (2–5 min) | Value or People |
Minimum: 3 feed posts + 10 Stories per week. Maximum: 5 feed posts per week — beyond that you cannibalise your own reach.
3.4
Annual content calendar — anchors
| Period | Focus | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Apr–May | New session, orientation, summer camps | Fresh-start energy; highest parent attention |
| Jun–Jul | Back to school, faculty intros, clubs launch | Talent recruitment window |
| Jul–Aug 2026 | World’s Top 10 (T4) campaign — network-wide | Live now — see below |
| Aug–Sep | Independence Day, Teachers' Day, sports, mid-term | Teachers' Day = highest organic reach of the year |
| Oct–Nov | Festivals, annual day prep, inter-school events | Festival content must stay palette-compliant |
| Dec–Feb | Admissions peak — open house, tours, results | The 10% admissions rule relaxes to 20% here only |
| Mar | Board exams, farewell, annual day, results build-up | Sensitivity: no exam-stress content |
Group Marketing publishes the master calendar with creative drops 14 days ahead of each anchor.
Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Vineet Khand, Gomti Nagar has been named among the World’s Top 10 Schools for Community Collaboration at the World’s Best School Prizes 2026 (T4 Education). Award news has ~6-week window — every day of delay is reach lost.
This is a network campaign, not a Gomti Nagar campaign. Every campus should be running it — with discipline.
- ✓“Our network’s Gomti Nagar campus is among the World’s Top 10 for Community Collaboration.”
- ✓Attribute: World’s Best School Prizes 2026, T4 Education.
- ✓Pair it with your own community work — that’s the point of the category.
- ✓Use it as the proof point under a local story.
- ✕“Our school is in the World’s Top 10.” (Only Gomti Nagar is.)
- ✕Drop the attribution or the category.
- ✕Post the award graphic alone with no local content.
- ✕Claim it as a ranking, a rating, or “No.1”. Top 10 ≠ No.1.
Seth Anandram Jaipuria School (Shaheed Path, Lucknow) also placed Top 10 in 2026, in a different category. That is not our network.
3.5
What actually works (and what doesn't)
- ✓Single-student story with a name (first name only) and a specific detail.
- ✓Teacher explaining one concept in 20 seconds.
- ✓Before/after — project builds, sports progress, art.
- ✓Parent testimonial, shot on phone, unscripted.
- ✓'Day in the life' of a Grade X student.
- ✕Chief guest lighting a lamp.
- ✕Group photo of 40 students holding a certificate.
- ✕Festival greeting with no school content.
- ✕Text-only announcement graphic.
- ✕Reposted news clipping of the school.
